The reverse of the coin features a different panda design each year. Details of the coins weight, purity and monetary denomination of 500 Yuan also appear in the design.

There are several mints that produce these coins across China. These include but are not limited to: Beijing, Shenzhen,Shanghai and Shenyang. Chinese mints usually do not employ mint marks.
