I am new to the precious metals market and wanted to make a small investment of £15-20,000 following the drop in gold spot price post US Election. I'm a traditional Investor. When I researched this market I was overwhelmed by individuals and companies peddling false information. I lacked trust in the market. I initially invested £5,000 with The Royal Mint but found them overpriced. Atkinsons are an official partner of The Royal Mint (TRM) which I verified on TRM website. The difference being that Atkinsons sell TRM gold at a more competitive price. Within 3 weeks I'd purchased 6 products from Atkinsons - 2 x Royal Mint Britannia Gold Bars, 2 x 1oz Gold Britannia Coins, a Last of the Rose Gold Full Sovereign and a 1KG Metalor Bar of Silver. Along with accessories like coin capsules. I wish dealers would include these. Most dealers charge for capsules as margins are so tight so I don't hold that against Atkinsons. When spending £10k+ naive customers would think their orders are high value/high profit for the dealer. The reality in this market appears to be it's high volume/relatively low margin. Delivery was included in the price. I know delivery isn't free as it's factored into the price when comparing to other dealers who do charge. I just prefer this less hassle at payment approach. Products arrived well packaged in a timely manner. One of the coin capsules was scratched but I'm not bothered. I'm sure Atkinsons would replace it if I called. Trust is important in this market. I did consider Chards. What put me off Chards was they released a YouTube video reporting how a customer bought fake sovereigns from "a well known bullion dealer". Chards are gaslighting their competitors implying if you don't buy from us you risk buying fakes which I intensely disliked. Chards do not take credit cards. Atkinsons do which means I have the reassurance of being protected under Section 75. A positive experience. I will continue investing with Atkinsons until gold represents 2% of my portfolio.
