Beware of their Headline Rate
I responded to Atkinsons offer of "...Sell Half Sovereign Gold Coin - Mixed Dates...".
The "headline price" shown on their website for that offer on the day was attractive but the offer they actually made to me once I had sent the coin to them was less attractive, being approximately 7% lower than the days headline rate - on the basis that the coin was "worn". Well it was a coin dated 1903, so of course it was worn, but that was surely already implied in their offer of "...Sell Half Sovereign Gold Coin - Mixed Dates...".
I was happy to sell to them - but be warned, as you might NOT actually receive their eye-catching "headline rate" offer when you send your coin(s) to them.
