The Pre-Owned 1989 UK 500th Anniversary Proof Half Sovereign Gold Coin is a highly sought-after coin that was issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the sovereign coin. Its special one-off design mirrors that of the original coin.
The coin features a Tudor rose on the reverse, and an intricate design showing Queen Elizabeth II, seated as at her coronation, on the obverse. This celebratory design was only used on Half Sovereigns, Full Sovereigns, Double Sovereigns, and Quintuple Sovereigns issued in 1989.
