This Pre-Owned 1989 UK Proof Sovereign Four Gold Coin Set was issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the first gold sovereign.
The set consists of the half-sovereign, sovereign, double sovereign, and quintuple each featuring a new design that was struck to commemorate the anniversary. The reverse design is a Shield of the Royal Arms upon a double rose with the inscription 'Anniversary of the Gold Sovereign 1489-1989'.
The obverse of the coins shows Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II seated as at her coronation.
