The 2014 Australian Lunar Horse 1kg Silver Coin celebrates the Year of the Horse, one of 12 animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar. The coin features two horses standing in a stylised Chinese scene. The design also incorporates the Chinese character for ‘horse’, the inscription ‘Year of the Horse’. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark is also included in the design.
The coin's obverse depicts Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date, weight, fineness and the monetary denomination.
