This 2015 UK Lunar Sheep 1oz silver coin was the second coin in The Royal Mint's Shēngxiào Collection. The coin's reverse design features a two horned sheep and the Chinese symbol for sheep. The inscription Year of the Sheep, the weight, fineness and the year-date also appear.
The coin's obverse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the coin's monetary denomination.
The Royal Mint first released the Lunar Series as part of the Shēngxiào Collection in 2014. The Sheep is the eighth animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Those born in the Year of the Sheep are said to be peace-loving, kind, and popular.
Designed by artist Wuon-Gean Ho, there were only 188,888 coins minted.
